Application #4 — Adding BACnet/IP Automation Equipment to an MS/TP Network

Usually when you think of adding a router you think of

BACnet/IP at the automation level and BACnet MS/TP

at the eld level. However, it is quite possible to have

an MS/TP network with both clients and servers

functioning successfully at only the eld level and

nding out that the eld equipment that needs to be

added has only a BACnet/IP interface. The BASrouter

will work ne in this application as well. Simply

connect the BASrouter between the BACnet MS/TP

network and the BACnet/IP device. There will be no

speed improvement to the overall internetwork, but the

new equipment will be connected.
